The Nairobi Animal Orphange, Nairobi National Park

The Nairobi Animal Orphanage is an education centre and a Kenya wildlife game park located within the heart of Kenya’s capital city Nairobi. Actually the animal sanctuary is located within Nairobi National Park.

The animal orphanage is probably the oldest in Kenya established around 1964 for the rehabilitation of orphaned animals and those rescued from poachers. Animals received at the orphanage are given thorough medical examination and treatment before entering into an appropriate feeding and rehabilitation program as maintained by the Animal orphanage administration.

The Nairobi Education Centre was established to give information and educate the public about Kenya’s wildlife, environmental conservation and also teach communities leaving around Kenya’s National parks and reserves about conservation.

The park and education centre receive thousands of visitors each year who visit the 20 different animals and birds that have their home at Nairobi Animals Orphanage. Some of them include lions, cheetahs, warthogs, created crane, baboons, antelopes, parrots, guinea fowl, ostrich and all these live in cages. The fascination with Nairobi Animal orphanage is the ability to play and bond with all these creatures upclose.
