Nairobi Safari Walk

The Nairobi Safari Walk is actually a 27 acre conservation facility run by the Kenya Wildlife Service and is aimed at preserving the natural diversity of the city of Nairobi.  This facility is an insight into the wild habitat of many of Kenya’s National parks and reserves

Nairobi Safari Walk is located only 7km from the city centre. The carefully maintained wooden nature trails lead you to the different eco-systems that make up Kenya’s wilderness namely the forest, savannah grasslands and the swamps.

Wildlife

The tour guide on the safari walks will identify tree species and plants that have unique traits to Kenya and those that are classified as threatened. Further, the trail takes you to Nairobi National Park where you’ll enjoy sights of the white rhino, albino zebras, eland, impala, buffalo, cheetah, spotted hyena, leopard, lion, hare, insects and giraffe among others.

There are also a variety of birds on the safari walk, many of them similar to the ones seen in the neighborhood-Park and the animal orphanage

Unlike the sights in the neighboring Nairobi Animal Orphanage and the Nairobi National Park, the safari walks offers quite a limited number of animal sights on game walks. The safari walk is open to visitors every day 9h00 to 15h00. It was designed for educational tours by institutions, research and Kenyan tourist.
